This one was so exciting for me to create, I have known Ellie for a long time after making other special jewellery for her and it felt so lovely to be able to create their very special ring. How did you feel when you had to start looking for an engagement ring?
Excited but nervous at the same time. I wasn’t sure of what style/ design of ring that I wanted to get nor how or where to get it at this point. I just wanted to make sure I got it right.
How did you hear about Stephanie Stevens Jewellery?
My fiancés family have had rings made with Stephanie before and have always been delighted with both the service and results that she’s provided.
Why was it important for you to have a bespoke ring?
I knew that I wanted my partner to have a ring that was unique, a ring that no-one else could have. That andI the fact that I’d designed the ring myself made the proposal feel so much more special!
Main reason you chose Stephanie to design and make your ring?
Stephanie put me at ease from our very first meeting. Her passion, attention to detail and customer-led way of working made me feel confident that she could create the ring I was imagining.
What was it like receiving the photos of your ring being made and how did it make you feel?
It was great to be able to see photos of Stephanie’s progress as the ring was being made. It was a personal touch that made the process even more exciting, especially once looking back on it with my fiancé after the proposal. It also ensured the ring was always in line with my hopes and thoughts.
Your favourite part of the journey?
My favourite part of the journey was relieving the ring to my partner and seeing the look on her face. It was everything I imagined and more
Any tips you can give to partners looking for engagement rings?
Take the time to plan for a ring that your partner will love. Making a bespoke ring makes that a lot easier and adds a thoughtful element which they will be forever grateful for
Tell us about the proposal 🙂
We went away to a special place for us, on a holiday out in the countryside, where we’d been a couple times before to have space & time alone with our little Jack Russell, Gus. It just felt right to pop the question in such a beautiful, peaceful setting as the sun set. Although, our dog had decided to steal and eat 8 sausages and let’s just say, they didn’t stick around for long so we had just finished dealing with that. But we was sat watching this beautiful sunset, listening to our favourite songs. It couldn’t have been more us.
How does it feel now you have your dream ring?
I still can’t believe it’s mine! I find myself looking down every now and then and just staring at it, especially when it catches the light as the sapphire can sometimes look different shades in different lights. When people ask about how we got engaged, the first thing I say is that it was designed by Ben and people always comment how special and thoughtful that is.
What does your ring mean to you?
Everything. After having a ring made with my dad’s ashes in it by Stephanie, I always knew my dream ring would be made by her but of course I never could ensure this (although Ben took the hints very well over the years!). It’s so so nice to know someone who means something to us and our family helped Ben and created something so unique and beautiful. I cannot wait to make our wedding bands with Stephanie.

Just thank you so much for making such a beautiful ring. I could never have imagined finding something I loved so much on a high street but also something that means so much. It’s so beautiful and we really can’t wait to design our bands for our 2026 wedding!
